Why It Matters
Every name deserves to be read
Scattered across Chesterfield and the surrounding villages are small memorials that time and nature have quietly swallowed. When ivy takes hold and paths disappear, families can no longer reach them and memories risk being lost.
We believe that looking after these places costs nothing but time. A cleared path, a cut lawn and a clean stone mean a family can stand there again, and the community can remember together.
We carry out this memorial work entirely in our spare time, at no cost to families or local groups. That only works because kind people chip in with fuel money, tools and a few pounds here and there.
The Difference
Before & after
Memorial Clean-up
Hidden by ivy, visible again
Before
AfterPath & Grounds
A way back to the stone
Before
AfterNothing here was rebuilt or replaced. Each memorial simply had the growth cut back and the ground around it cleared, so the stone and its setting speak for themselves.
Ongoing Care
Not a one-off tidy
Nature grows back, so we return to the memorials we adopt and keep on top of them. A regular mow and a seasonal cut-back keeps growth from re-claiming the stones.
If you know of a memorial near you that has been forgotten, tell us about it. We would rather spend a Saturday restoring it than see it slip away.

Fundraiser
Help us keep going back
Our volunteer work is free, but it is not cost-free. Every donation to our GoFundMe goes straight back into the next clean-up.
Fuel
Petrol and diesel to get us, our van and our machinery to each memorial site.
Green-waste disposal
Legal tips and recycling fees for the ivy, brambles and clippings we clear.
Volunteer time
Covering the hours Chris and helpers give up, so paid jobs elsewhere can wait.
Cleaning equipment
Blades, line, brushes and gentle stone-cleaning kit that leave memorials unharmed.
Any amount helps, however small. Thank you.
